Design & Access Statements

The Design & Access Statement (D&A) is a statutory requirement for most types of planning application.  However, it should also be seen as an opportunity.  Providing a quality document to accompany your application can be the difference between success and failure.

DCB Planning believes that the D&A statement is an opportunity to sell the merits of a scheme or proposal to Councillors, Planning Officers and the general public alike.  The D&A statement should in most cases be a colourful and striking document that draws people's attention to the benefits of the proposal; encouraging interest and providing information on the fundamental aspects of the application.  Too often, however, this aspect of the application is overlooked.

We are well versed in providing quality, comprehensive D&A statements at all levels of application, tailored to the needs of the individual scheme.  These documents range in size and complexity and do not contain superfluous or unnecessary information.

DCB Planning has also produced Design & Access Statements working in partnership with other consultants, based on information already in place, to accompany successful submissions.
